This is the first official print run of the long-rumored underground comics zine by Phil Elverum, which has appeared intermittently and anonymously since the late 1990s.
It's a beautiful hardcover book containing almost 200 obtuse, idiotic, and sometimes hilarious single-panel gags drawn in a quick, skewed scrawl.
Phil Elverum (b. 1978) is a multidisciplinary artist from the Pacific Northwest known mostly for making music as “the Microphones" and “Mount Eerie”. In addition to those decades of critically acclaimed albums, he has produced a continually evolving body of visual and literary artwork through photography, painting, and poetry. Most of this work has been self-published through an in-house imprint, “P.W. Elverum & Sun”, carving out a unique DIY niche in the wastelands of late American culture. He lives on Orcas Island, Wash, with his wife, 2 children, and thousands of ravens.
